Does Mixing Floor Care Brand’s Matter?
Have you ever tried applying a finishing product over another brand’s product and something goes terribly wrong? All brands have their own chemical makeup which is why it is so important to stick with the same brand with all of your cleaning; especially when applying a Finish on your floors.
Compatibility is the term we often use when talking with consumers about their floors. You cannot use a high-fragrance cleaner or a cleaner that contains surfactant overload and not expect residue to remain behind. This is the #1 issue for failed results when applying a Finish no matter the brand. If you plan to polish and shine your floors with Quick Shine® Floor Finish, only use Quick Shine® Floor Cleaners as they are compatible.
So what if you are ready to switch brands? We recommend rinsing your floors with plain water a few times to assure all cleaning residue is off of the floor. If you have floor finish on the floor, use Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner to remove it before trying a different product. Protecting the life of your floors is crucial and so many cleaners do more harm than good. Quick Shine® Safer Choice® Finishes and Cleaners are not only safer for families and pets, but they are pH neutral, streak-free, and residue-free so you can clean your floors and maintain them for a lifetime of enjoyment.
I purchased quick shine pure wax and floor finish. Can they be used together or is it better to use one over the other? I just installed new peel and stick vinyl flooring in a bathroom and I want to seal it and make it last longer.
We would recommend applying them over existing dry coats of one another. Do not mix them. You will also want to make sure your floors are clean prior to applying the Finish or Pure Wax.
