How to Keep Your Floors Looking Beautiful with Quick Shine®

Whether you have kids at home or just love to entertain, keeping your floors clean and shiny can be a real challenge. Quick Shine® Floor Finish is the perfect solution to protect your floors from foot traffic and prevent them from looking dull or worn. With its quick and easy application, you can transform any room in minutes. Below is a simple guide on finishing and maintaining your floors to leave a lasting impression on guests of all ages.

Finish It: Apply Quick Shine® for a Stunning Glow

Step 1: Prepare the Floor

  • Begin by dry dust mopping to remove dust and debris from your floors.
  • Ensure the surface is free of pet hair, dirt, and dust before applying the finish.

Step 2: Apply Quick Shine® Finish

Step 3: Let It Dry

  • Allow the finish to dry to a glossy shine in about 30-45 minutes.
  • If a higher gloss is desired, apply additional coats following the same method.

Maintain It: Keep Your Floor Looking Fresh

Weekly Maintenance

  • Dry dust mop your floors weekly with a microfiber mop to eliminate everyday dust and debris.

Cleaning Heavier Dirt and Spills

  • Use Quick Shine® Cleaners to maintain the finish’s gloss and tackle dirt, footprints, and spills.
  • Squirt the cleaner onto the floor in an S-shape and spread with a clean, freshly rinsed microfiber or sponge mop. Wring the mop pad frequently to release dirt and prevent streaking or hazing.

Convenient Cleaning with a Spray Mop

  • For added convenience, use a Quick Shine® Spray Mop with Quick Shine® Cleaners. Remember to rinse the mop pad often to avoid clouding or hazing.

Refresh It: Reapply for a Brilliant Shine

How Often to Refresh

  • Reapply a fresh coat of Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Finish or Hardwood Finish every 2-4 months to enhance the glow.

Preparation Steps

  • Before refreshing, follow the maintenance steps to ensure the floor is clean and free of debris.
  • Apply the new coat using the same method outlined in the “Finish It” section.

Prevent It: Protect Your Floors from Wear and Tear

  • Place floor mats or rugs at entryways and walkways to reduce dirt and grit that can abrade the finish.
  • Add felt-tipped protectors to the bottoms of furniture legs to avoid scratches.
  • Trim your pet’s nails regularly to prevent damage to the floor surface.
  • Consider going shoeless indoors, as sock traffic is gentler on floors than shoes.

With these simple steps, Quick Shine® makes it easy to finish, maintain, refresh, and protect your floors so they stay beautiful and ready to impress.

      Hi Cristina,
The sanded floor will need to be resealed first as our Finish is water based and could absorb into the pores of the wood.

I applied in my wood floor and a section actually looks like it was missed… I was instructed to use ammonia and warm water to blend the finish and re apply where it looked missing…. did not work.should I steam clean the floor to remove and start again?

      Hi,
We recommend removing the finish completely with Quick Shine Deep Cleaner if the ammonia and water mixture did not work. It is important to allow the solution to sit for 3-4 minutes to allow proper time to dissolve through the finish.

      Hi Katherine,
If the particles are embedded into the layer of finish, you will need to remove the finish in order to clean your floors thoroughly. We recommend using Quick Shine Deep Cleaner to safely remove our finish. You can also spot treat the affected areas if the entire floor is not compromised.

Love the product but if I can’t reapply in 2-4 months will it be shiney in some areas and dull in others? I’m older so it depends on how I’m feeling.

No, once you reapply in a few months, you will not see any inconsistency in wear pattern. We have self leveling agents in our formula that will provide an even appearance throughout.
