How to Use Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner Like a Pro

blog how to use our quick shine deep cleaner

Are your floors in need of a refresh? If you’re ready to bring back that WOW factor, Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner/Wax Remover is here to help! Whether you need to remove old layers of floor finish or tackle years of buildup, follow our step-by-step guide for the best results and learn how to use Quick Shine Deep Cleaner like a pro.

Why Use Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner?

Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner was specifically formulated to deep clean and safely remove our Quick Shine® Floor Finish, as well as other waxes and finishes—without damaging sealed hardwood floors, polyurethane seal, or other sealed hard floor surfaces.

Step-by-Step Guide to Using Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner

Follow these six simple steps to restore your floors:

1. Dilute the Deep Cleaner in HOT Water

Mix Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner in a bucket with hot water—the hotter, the better! Hot water increases the cleaner’s effectiveness for breaking down layers of finish. Small batches help keep the water hot!

2. Apply in Small Sections

Use a sponge mop or the Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Mop to apply the solution. Work in small 5’x5’ sections to make removal and clean-up more manageable.

3. Let the Solution Sit (But Don’t Let It Dry!)

Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes to break down the finish. Caution: Do not let it dry on the floor—if it starts to dry, add a little warm water to keep the surface wet.

4. Watch for the Milky White Film

As the Quick Shine® Floor Finish lifts from your floor, it will turn into a milky white film. This indicates that the removal process is working!

5. Scrub Away the Finish

Use our microfiber scrubber pad to agitate the area. Elbow grease may be needed to remove stubborn dirt and multiple layers of finish.

6. Rinse and Repeat

Once the finish is removed, rinse the area with clean, warm water and allow it to dry before moving to the next section. Repeat steps 1-6 for the entire floor.

Extra Tips for Stubborn Build-Up

  • For heavy layers of finish, a second treatment may be necessary.
  • Increase dilution from 1 cup per gallon to 2-3 cups per gallon for a stronger cleaning solution.
  • One bottle of Deep Cleaner makes 3.5 gallons (at 1 cup per gallon), covering up to 500 square feet.

Bring Back the Shine with Quick Shine® Floor Finish

Once your floors are completely dry, apply a fresh coat of Quick Shine® Floor Finish or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster to restore their shine. Your floors will look like new again!

Help ! We accidentally spilled some bourbon on our beautiful coffee table and almost immediately cleaned it up but it took the finish off in quite a large area. Not thinking straight I put a layer of Quick Shine (which I love for my floors )….on the ENTIRE surface of the coffee table { including the un ruined areas} and now the coffee table looks waxy and white in areas. Any way to get the quick shine off without harming the good original surface? I dont want to harm the good parts. I ordered some of your product { Quick deep shine cleaner} that takes off the quick shine but I dont want to take off the good finish. I guess my question is……Will it strip the entire table?

GoogleWhew! I’ve been reading all of your comments. What a relief! I was prepared to strip your finish completely
And never use again. However I love the shine. My question is:
Will Quick Shine, when rinsed in the sink, damage the drain pipes. I have been so concerned about that. Thank you

        Hi Charlene,

Quick Shine products are water based and are septic safe. We just recommend running water while disposing the liquid down the drain. For additional questions, please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. We are always happy to help!

Question..Which product has the duller finish? Used Holloway Multi Use Wax (green bottle). Sun shining on the floor is blinding. Is Holloway Wax (brown bottle) a duller finish?

      Hi Monica,

Our Quick Shine High Traffic Hardwood Floor Luster does provide a softer shine as it contains pure plant based carnauba wax. Your floors will still have a deep, rich protective glow. The more coats you add, the higher shine you will see so we only recommend 2 coats and allowing a few months for an additional coat with routine maintenance. You can maintain the shine with our Quick Shine Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner. If you have additional questions, please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. We are always happy to help!

Used the Deep Cleaner for our kitchen floor and it removed the buildup as advertised. Took some elbow exercise in some corners but worked very well and we are pleased. Took a couple coats of the Floor Finish to get the shine back but we did and we are so pleased. Only problem was in my haste to do things correctly I spilled way too much product (both cleaner and finish) in my sink (stainless steel) and it has left a “haze-looking” appearance that I am having difficulty clearing up. Saw earlier review that recommended Windex or Formula 409—–tried the former and worked only minimally. Wife will experiment with some other cleaners but this kind of puts a damper on the enthusiasm we have for the look of the floors. Have learned one thing for sure: you have to be so careful with this product and others like it. Lesson learned though! Make no mistake about it—Quick Shine products are VERY GOOD!

Thank you for the feedback Keith. We are sorry to hear it has been tough removing the spilled finish from your sink. Our Deep Cleaner will work well to remove the haze from your sink if you still have some left. You can also soak a sink full of HOT water and ammonia, then wipe clean. Please let us know if this works for you. Thank you for being a great customer.

Your floor cleaner and Finish were recommended by a friend. However, first I must remove a competitors finish (Orange Glo). Ammonia and water is going very slowly and I was hoping your Deep clean could help out. Will it work? – thanks

We had a cleaner apply Quick Shine Floor Finish to our hardwoods instead of cleaner…now our satin finish is shiney and the Floor Finish was applied unevenly giving the floors a terrible look. I understand the Deep Cleaner will remove the Floor Finish, but will it also remove the original satin finish as well? I am curious if we essentially have to refinish our entire floors now to get back to just the satin. Thanks

Bona wood floor cleaner has left a cloudy film on my hand scraped wood floors. If I use your Quick Shine Deep Cleaner product, if I understand correctly, it will remove the film. I do not want to put any additional coatings on the floor afterwards. Will my floors be restored to their condition prior to using Bona if I just use your Quick Shine Deep Cleaner product only? Thanking you in advance.
