How to Use Our Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner
Deep Cleaner to the rescue! Many of you have asked if there are any tips or tricks to the Deep Cleaner process so you can reapply the Quick Shine® Floor Finish to get your floors back to that WOW factor.
Today, we are happy to share with you the recommended steps below to give you confidence in conquering your floors like superman!
The Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner was specifically developed to not only deep clean but also to safely remove our finish from your floors. Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner/Wax Remover will also remove other waxes and finishes without harming hardwood floors or their polyurethane seal or any other type of hard floor surface. Below are 6 quick tips on how to use our Deep Cleaner:
- In a bucket, dilute the Deep Cleaner in HOT water as HOT water is more effective.
- Using a sponge mop or our Hardwood Floor Mop, apply it to the floor surface. Do small sections (5’x5’) of the floor at a time in order to maintain a more manageable removal and clean-up.
- Allow the Deep Cleaner solution to remain on the floor for a few minutes. CAUTION: Do not allow the solution to dry and re-adhere to the surface. If the solution appears to be drying, add a little warm water to keep the surface wet.
- The Quick Shine Floor Finish that you are removing should start to turn to a milky white film indicating the finish is being removed.
- After a few minutes, agitate with our microfiber scrubber pad. Aggressive agitation and elbow grease are typically required to remove ground-in dirt and multiple layers of the finish.
- Once you have removed the floor finish, rinse the area with clear, warm water and allow it to dry. Then you can proceed to the next 5’x5’ area and repeat steps 1-6.
NOTE: For heavy build-up, you may need to use a second treatment, and/or you can also increase the dilution from 1 cup per gallon to 2-3 cups per gallon. Deep Cleaner is concentrated, therefore it makes 3.5 gallons (at 1 cup per gallon), which should be enough for 500 square feet.
After completing this process, once your floors have completely dried you can now reapply a coat of our Quick Shine® Floor Finish or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster to bring your floors back to life giving them the shine they deserve!
We hope these simple steps have helped you with using the Deep Cleaner correctly and efficiently. Now you can proudly wear that S on your chest and have triumphed for your floors!

I will never, never, never wil use this product again. I use it in my one year old floor and it did not dry evenly. It is shinny in some places and dull in others. Iam so afraid to use the quick shine deep cleaner to remove this product and damage my floors. Buyer do some research before using this product.

Problem is the retail store(home depot)does not sell the deep cleaner.it was the worse product i used and now you want me to spend 50$ For a remover for a bad product you sell?
Hi Patrick,
Thank you for your feedback. If you do not want to purchase our Deep Cleaner, an alternative solution is mix 1 cup of Ammonia with 1/2 gallon of HOT water and apply to 5′ section at a time. Let solution sit 3-4 minutes and mop away. This method has worked for other consumers with similar issues. If you need further assistance, please email us at marketing@hollowayhouse.net and we are happy to help.
I have used quick shine on my laminate wood flooring several times. It works wonders and truly makes the flooring look better than when I purchased it 6 years ago. The only issue I have is the flooring leaves scruff marks easily with a coat of quick shine on it. Is there anyway to prevent this? I have kids so unfortunately scruff marks are impossible to prevent but I would at least like to know if there’s a way to improve the situation. Thanks for a great product!
Hi Norman,
Try to keep heavy objects from moving across the floor for the first few days after applying a new coat of Finish. During the curing process, the Finish is more easily scuffed.
Hello, apply several layers of your product to achieve the shine I wanted … but I noticed that there was some dust left in a small area … therefore I cleaned it with a cloth dampened with water … and the floor was stained !!! Do I have to remove all the product just for that small area ??? Or how do I fix this stain without having to remove the product from the entire floor?
Hi Martha,
You can spot treat that affected area with a mixture of 2-3 tbsp. of Ammonia and 1 cup of HOT water. Apply solution and let sit 2-3 minutes before wiping away. Once the Finish has been removed, you can reapply a new coat to that area and blend. You may add a few coats to achieve the same gloss level as the rest of the floor. This method has worked for many consumers with similar issues.
I am currently using your deep cleaner to remove the quick shine that was applied to our laminate flooring. The deep cleaner is working well in some spots, but then in others there is a white residue that won’t come up. Do you have any advice for how to get it removed?
Hi Hayley,
For the more difficult areas, we recommend applying more solution, let sit 2-3 more minutes and rinse away with clean water. You may have layers to get through still.
I used 0000 grade steel wool for the more difficult area that stayed milky white while using the Deep Cleaner. I only had to gently rub the steel wool. I used a microfiber applicator normally used for windows to apply the Deep Cleaner. I had many layers and years of Quick Shine wax on my floors that the housekeepers used. Now, my floors appear brand new.
Hi, I used Quik Sine on new laminated floor and some areas do not look good, how can I remove it. Also, I have dogs and it’s difficult to clean paw stains and water marks, do you recommend something?
Thanks
Hi Maria,
We recommend removing our Finish from your floors with Quick Shine Deep Cleaner. This product was formulated to remove our Finish without affecting the original factory finish. This product is available online at http://www.walmart.com or on our website. Simply apply the Deep Cleaner and let sit for 2-3 minutes, then mop away the solution. You should be able to see if the residue is off of the floor. Finish with a clean water rinse to bring your floors back to their original condition. If paw prints occur almost immediately after application, the finish may not be fully dry or cured. It is important to dry dust only the first week after applying our Finish. Wipe spills immediately to avoid spotting. For additional assistance please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. We are always happy to help!
Oh, thank goodness. I’m glad I found this post. I just had new laminate hardwood flooring put down and my niece went to clean the house for move-in called Buona but then she put down quick shine my floors look horrible. There is a film over them and white chalky stuff everywhere. Now I know how to remove it. You really need to put a warning on quick shine to let people know that it is not for using on laminate hardwood flooring
Your product on laminate hardwood flooring create a catastrophe in one’s home.
But, to be honest, I have no idea what your product is
Hi Jim,
We are glad you found this post too! Quick Shine is a pH neutral water based finish designed to provide a restored, protective shine and is safe for laminate, hardwood, tile and other hard surface floors. We have found that some cleaners are not compatible with Quick Shine as they contain a lot of surfactant which can leave residue behind that interferes with the way our product adheres to the floor surface. It is best to start with a damp mop, clean water rinse to assure the floor is properly cleaned prior to using Quick Shine. You can safely remove any residue or compromised finish from your laminate floors with our Quick Shine Deep Cleaner as this post has mentioned. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We are always happy to help!
Dear Steven,

How can I remove quick shine from our countertop?
Hi Julie,
We recommend using Windex or Formula 409 to remove our Finish from your countertops. Simply spray and let sit 1 minute before wiping away. This method has worked for other consumers with the same issue.
In applying the quickshine after the cleaner some of the polish got on a white leather hassock leaving a “waxy” spot. What can I do to remove without damaging the leather?
Help!
Regards
Irv
Hi Irv,
We recommend spraying Formula 409 or Windex (with Ammonia) on the overspray. Allow solution to sit 1-2 minutes then wipe clean with a damp cloth. This method has worked for other consumers with similar issues.

We recommend maintaining the shine by cleaning weekly with Quick Shine Floor Cleaner (blue label). You only need to reapply the Finish every 2-6 months when needed as the shine lasts a really long time.
